Child's development through the building/play process:

Age 2: Fine Motor Skills of fitting the blocks into each other.
Age 3: Letter Recognition.
Age 3-4: Letter recognition and learning the spell their names.
Age 3-4: Shape recognition and problem solving skills: Recognizing shapes and making 2D versions.
Age 3.5-5: Fine Motor Skills: Making more complex 3D versions.
